Early Life

Carl Lewis was born on July 1st, 1961 in Birmingham, Alabama. He showed an exceptional talent for athletics from a young age, following in the footsteps of his father, a former track and field athlete.

Olympic Success

Lewis's Olympic career was nothing short of remarkable. He competed in four consecutive Olympic Games, from 1984 to 1996, and won an astounding nine gold medals and one silver medal. His standout performance at the 1984 Los Angeles Games earned him a place in history as he emulated Jesse Owens by winning gold in the 100m, 200m, long jump, and 4x100m relay. Lewis's dominance continued throughout his career, with him winning additional gold medals in the 100m, long jump, and 4x100m relay in subsequent Olympic Games.

World Championships Dominance

Beyond his Olympic success, Lewis also dominated the World Championships. He won 10 gold medals and one silver medal in various events, establishing himself as one of the greatest track and field athletes of all time.
