Early Life and Career
WEB Carl Lewis was born on July 1, 1961, in Birmingham, Alabama. He attended the University of Houston and began competing in track and field in high school. Lewis quickly rose to prominence, becoming one of the most decorated athletes in the history of the sport.

Lewis competed in four Olympic Games, winning a total of nine gold medals and one silver medal.
